Capacity Building Programs
The
Capacity Building Department of SDO will undertake a strategic management
approach, which integrates planning, budgeting, implementation and
evaluation of all training programs to produce strategic results
that will build the capacity, enhance long term performance and
the development of staff of SDO and the organization as a whole.
The Capacity Building Department will use systematic processes to
plan its activities and services and ensure resources are directed
to the identified training goals and priorities.
The Capacity Building Department will adopt a flexible two year strategic
planning cycle in which administrative and operational functions,
organizational capacities and resources are geared to increasing efficiency
and effectiveness and to achieving the Capacity Building Department’s
goals. The Capacity Building Department’s strategic plan will
embrace the philosophy and mission of the Sanayee Development Organization.
Procedure:
The
Capacity Building Department will:
• develop a strategic plan every two years
• review the plan every six months
• evaluate implementation of the plan each year
Positively to the rehabilitation and development process in Afghanistan The department is currently being established to;
•
Identify skills and knowledge gaps in the organization
• provide staff with the opportunity to actively and positively
participate in training and planning for training
• improve the skills and abilities of staff through providing
staff development opportunities
• encourage staff to expand their knowledge which will ultimately
reflect in continued improvements to SDO
• undertake the capacity building of all staff of SDO, which
will in turn build the capacity of the organization and the community
as a whole
• provide staff with the opportunity to ‘have their
say’ about the organization and how they will make positive
contributions to its changes, growth and welfare
• improve staff retention and longevity
• build stronger and more effective teams and departments
• build the organization to provide more efficient and effective
organization service provision
• build on or improve staff morale and alleviate burnout and
stress
• acknowledge staff contributions
• enhance conflict resolution skills to uphold peace building
at the micro and macro levels
• provide training publications in English and Dari
• to provide individual staff, departments and the community
with accessible and comprehensive resources
• become self sustainable financially and in terms of staff
capacity
• develop strong inter organization community networks to
enhance training and resource opportunities
• provide training, in the longer term, for other organizations
in Afghanistan
The Capacity Building Department is a relatively new Department in SDO, commenced in February 2004. CBD) from its beginning upholds the mission and goals of (SDO) to contribute positively to the rehabilitation and development process in Afghanistan.
